Provenance and Comments: Returned to M.A. for sale. This work by Detroy is ascribed to the Reichenbachs but does not show up in either Bernard or Hermann's inventories of stolen works of art. Nevertheless, it is clearly listed on the ERR inventories for the Reichenbach collection as having come from the "Reichenbach" crates stored in the Chateau de Chambord and transported to the Jeu de Paume in July 1941. The Reichenbach provenance has yet to be proven. Since it was on the ill-fated 1 August 1944 train to Nikolsburg, this work should have been recovered by the French government. There are no indications of the painting's recovery by the French government nor are there any indications of it being returned to the Reichenbach family, neither Bernard nor Hermann.
