| Observations: | Chasles' entire collection was seized during a raid by the Sonderstab Musik of the ERR. His property filled 13 crates which apparently were shipped to Kogl. The crates included works of art, furniture, books, and musical instruments. He was a highly regarded legal authority and civil servant in pre-1940 France, an "Ingénieur des Arts et Manufactures, ancien président de chambre au tribunal de commerce de la Seine." |
