Provenance and Comments: This painting by André Derain might be identical to the "Rue de Beaulieu" which once belonged to Stephan Osusky, the former Czech ambassador to France before WWII. This painting and many others had been stored at the home of James-Armand de Rothschild shortly before the German invasion of France. Postwar French authorities noted that this painting had been stolen by the ERR on 17 November 1942. However, there are no notations on the ERR card to that effect. Moreover, as an UNB object, it is unlikely that it would have been confiscated so late since all UNB objects were confiscated between October 1940 and mid-1941. Considered for possible exchange. Although slated for transport to Nikolsburg on 1 August 1944, the train never left Paris
