Description: No two pieces alike, in relief on a pale jade green coloring with most exquisitely wrought design. Over fifty plates, including soup plates, dinner plates, salat plates, dessert plate, two fruit dishes, two very large salad bowls, six large and two small platters, gravy dishes, sauce dishes, cups and saucers.

48 plates of Royal Imperial Canton china, over 100 years old. The most complete set in the world. In all the set there are no two pieces alike and on them are to be found all the insects, vegetables, flowers, birds, and fruits of China. This set was brought over by Bates-Batcheller's ancestors who had sailing vessels and who plied between Salem and China.
