Provenance and Comments: Tausch 13. Sold by Rochlitz to Petrides, Paris. [Rochlitz report, p.8]. On February 9, 1942 the art dealer Gustav Rochlitz exchanged seven ‘degenerate’ paintings by Matisse, Braque, Chirico and Leger with a painting from a Master from Frankfurt, titled: 'The Adoration of the Magi’. The paintings belonged to Georges Bernheim, Paul Rosenberg and Alphonse Kann. Although this painting appears on a list of works of art marked as not restituted as of 9 December 1952, indications are that it was returned to the heirs of Alphonse Kann.
