Provenance and Comments: The ERR inventory for the Weinberger collection overlaps with his client's collection, Alexandrine de Rothschild. However, the description for Wbg 1-100, viz. the first hundred objects in the collection, leaves one to ask: were there one hundred additional objects belonging to Weinberger and/or Alexandrine de Rothschild, which were considered not worthy of being inventoried, or is this just a bureaucratic sleight of hand allowing the inventory to start with Wbg 100? Whatever the answer may be, Mr. Braumuller of the Sonderstab Louvre had a hand in the removal of the Wbg collection and is the only one who can attest to the existence and fate of objects Wbg 1-100.
