Provenance and Comments: This item was in a crate set aside for von Behr at the Louvre. Georges Mandel was assassinated by elements of the French Milice on July 7, 1944. This item was restituted to the 'Succession Georges Mandel' consisting of Ms. Claude Mandel, who, as a minor, was represented by her guardian, Beatrice Bretty-Dangel. There is no restitution date on the French release form (feuille de décharge). However, the ID number given to the Isabey work is Man 1107, which is at odds with the ERR designation.
