Pierre Lewin’s collection was confiscated at the Chenue storage company location on 5, rue de la Terrasse, in Paris, on 6 February 1942 and brought to the Louvre depot, the Jeu de Paume annex. The objects were placed in 12 crates at the Jeu de Paume on 24 February 1943, and shipped to Seissenegg on 18 November 1943. According to French restitution records, the P. Lewin collection was restituted to Pierre Lewin on 6 January 1950. |
