Literature: On the back of the ERR photograph for this painting, there is a reference to Hermann Goering and to Markstr. 73.
Provenance and Comments: Tausch 21. This painting was part of a three-painting exchange between Bruno Lohse and Goering on 24 July 1942. Sent from Paris to Baden-Baden in August 1944. [Rochlitz report, p.11]. Apparently, the painting never left Paris and was sold to Hildebrand Gurlitt in 1953. His son, Cornelius Gurlitt, inherited it in 1956 and it stayed with him until it was finally restituted to the heirs of Paul Rosenberg in 2015.
