Provenance and Comments: There are two watercolors by Boudin entitled "Sitting woman" which were carded at the MCCP. Same measurements, same title, same ERR number--FLA 10. One would be tempted to presume that this is an accountability error on the part of the American authorities at the MCCP who carded the same item twice. The Flavian restitution inventory does not account for two watercolors by Boudin. However, the repatriation date for one of the Boudin watercolors, 367/7 at the MCCP, is July 11, 1946, which postdates the restitution of the watercolor by two months (May 17, 1946). Hence, the Boudin that was repatriated on July 11, 1946, might not be a Flavian work or, if it is, it is not listed in the Flavian restitution inventories.
